That power is like the working of his mighty strength, 20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. |

Power! It is the thing that politics is about in government, business and in far too many churches. And yet, power is an essential ingredient in authority. Without the power to accomplish our responsibility, we operate in weakness.
The problem with power is that it is so often accumulated in excess of the responsibility that one has. Any excess of power, over and above that which is necessary to accomplish ones responsibility is abuse.
Leadership is not a position from which one can have authority. Leadership is a verb, if you will, in which one acts out what they are in support of others, empowering them to be who they are. One can be a leader without an office or title, or one can have both office and title and still not be a leader. |

Dynamics of Grace is about freeing people to act in concert with who they are and to empower people to be rather than organize them to a specific program or structure. In this regard we see the life of the church as a dynamic relationship together in which the freedom to be ones self becomes the catalyst for united action. The church was never intended to be an organization, but an organism, living by a common life.
